Job summary

Planned Systems International is seeking a Mission Planning Systems Engineer to support the Air Force Special Operations Command at Cannon AFB, NM. The role focuses on hands-on system administration, deployment, and operational sustainment for mission-critical systems.

You will troubleshoot across hardware, software, and network layers, support LAN environments, and coordinate with Government personnel to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
• Certification: DoD 8570/8140 IAT II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in network and/or systems administration.
• Experience supporting Special Operations, SOCOM, or C4ISR environments.
• Strong knowledge of DoD Information Assurance, policy, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting LAN environments.
• Familiarity with IT service management concepts (e.g., ITIL).
• Experience with Operating Systems: Windows 10 / Windows Server; Linux (Red Hat, Kali).
• Networking: Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, HP.
• Virtualization: VMware, vCenter, vSphere.
• Monitoring & Security Tools: Splunk, SolarWinds, Snort, Wireshark; HBSS / McAfee.
• Automation: Ansible / Ansible Tower.
• Mobile Platforms: iOS, Android.

Responsibilities

• Applies established system administration principles to maintain and sustain mission systems.
• Performs independent troubleshooting and remediation of hardware, software, and network issues.
• Configures and supports client systems, servers, and small tactical/peer-to-peer networks.
• Executes system deployment, imaging, and data validation activities in operational environments.
• Provides direct user support and coordination with Government personnel.
