Planned Systems International, Inc. in New Mexico is seeking a Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) to support the AFSOC Enhanced Mission Integration program at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM.

The MPSE will provide hands-on system administration and operational sustainment with a focus on mission-critical systems and end users. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on network/systems administration, independent execution of tasks such as imaging, configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment

Qualifications

  • Active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • 5+ years of hands-on network and/or systems administration.
  • Experience in Special Operations, SOCOM, or C4ISR environments.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD Information Assurance and related regulations.
  • Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting LAN environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and IT service management concepts.
  • Proficiency with Windows 10/Server and Linux (Red Hat, Kali).
  • Networking: Cisco/Aruba/Juniper/HP; Virtualization: VMware, vCenter, vSphere.
  • Monitoring and security tools: Splunk, SolarWinds, Snort, Wireshark; HBSS/McAfee.
  • Automation: Ansible/Ansible Tower; Mobile: iOS, Android.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice, including OCONUS locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides hands-on system administration and operational sustainment for mission systems.
  • Performs troubleshooting and remediation of hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Configures and supports client systems, servers, and small tactical networks.
  • Executes deployment, imaging, and data validation in operational environments.
  • Delivers direct user support and coordinates with Government personnel.

Overview

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. PSI is currently seeking a Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) to support the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) under the AFSOC Enhanced Mission Integration (AEMI) program at Cannon AFB in Clovis, New Mexico.

The Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) provides hands-on system administration and operational sustainment support, requiring a minimum of five (5) years of experience in network and/or systems administration. The role operates independently in executing technical tasks, including system imaging, configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment support, while directly supporting mission-critical systems and end users.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

The scope of responsibilities reflects a journeyman-level professional who:

  • Applies established system administration principles and procedures tomaintainand sustain mission systems.
  • Performs independent troubleshooting and remediation of hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Configures and supports client systems, servers, and small tactical/peer-to-peer networks.
  • Executes system deployment, imaging, and data validation activities in operational environments.
  • Provides direct user support and coordination with Government personnel.

While the role requires broad technical proficiency and operational awareness, it is primarily focused on execution and sustainment rather than enterprise architecture, system design, or technical leadership, which are characteristic of senior-level roles.

Minimum Requirements
  • Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
  • Certification: DoD 8570/8140 IAT II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network and/or systems administration.
  • Experience supporting Special Operations, SOCOM, or C4ISR environments.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD Information Assurance, policy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting LAN environments.
  • Familiarity with IT service management concepts (e.g., ITIL).
  • Experience with the following:

  • Ability to travel on short notice, including OCONUS locations.
  • Ability to work in operational environments with limited infrastructure.
  • Eligible for NATO access (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Must meet all applicable security requirements (clearance level to be specified).
