Job summary

Planned Systems International (PSI) seeks a Mission Planning Systems Engineer to support AFSOC at Cannon AFB, NM. The role centers on hands-on system administration and operational sustainment for mission-critical systems and end users.

Requires 5+ years in network/system administration, DoD IA, and experience in Special Operations environments. Travel and eligibility for NATO access are possible; security clearance required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of hands-on system administration experience.
• Experience supporting Special Operations, SOCOM, or C4ISR environments.
• Strong knowledge of DoD Information Assurance, policy and regulatory requirements.
• Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting LAN environments.
• Familiarity with IT service management concepts (ITIL).
• Proficient with Windows/Linux systems, networking gear, virtualization, and security tools.

Overview

PSI is currently seeking a Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) to support the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) under the AFSOC Enhanced Mission Integration (AEMI) program at Cannon AFB in Clovis, New Mexico.

The Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) provides hands-on system administration and operational sustainment support, requiring a minimum of five (5) years of experience in network and/or systems administration. The role operates independently in executing technical tasks, including system imaging, configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment support, while directly supporting mission-critical systems and end users.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

The scope of responsibilities reflects a journeyman-level professional who:

• Applies established system administration principles and procedures tomaintainand sustain mission systems.
• Performs independent troubleshooting and remediation of hardware, software, and network issues.
• Configures and supports client systems, servers, and small tactical/peer-to-peer networks.
• Executes system deployment, imaging, and data validation activities in operational environments.
• Provides direct user support and coordination with Government personnel.

While the role requires broad technical proficiency and operational awareness, it is primarily focused on execution and sustainment rather than enterprise architecture, system design, or technical leadership, which are characteristic of senior-level roles.

Minimum Requirements

• Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in network and/or systems administration.
• Experience supporting Special Operations, SOCOM, or C4ISR environments.
• Strong knowledge of DoD Information Assurance, policy, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting LAN environments.
• Familiarity with IT service management concepts (e.g., ITIL).
• Experience with the following:

• Ability to work in operational environments with limited infrastructure.
• Eligible for NATO access (U.S. citizenship required).
