Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mission Operations Development Engineer for on-site work supporting high-tempo satellite operations. The role includes script integration, testing with simulators, and leading cross-functional teams during real-time mission execution.

Basic qualifications include STEM degrees with multiple years of experience and active SCI clearance. Preferred skills cover MATLAB, Python, and Linux, with strong communication abilities for milestone reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance at time of application.
• Scripting experience in Python, STOL, or other coding languages.
• Experience with operations of on-orbit satellites.
• Strong ability to make decisions under pressure and maintain composure.
• Excellent verbal and written communications for milestone reviews.

Responsibilities

• Provide mission operations support to spacecraft programs.
• Integrate and test operational scripts for satellite operations.
• Conduct testing using simulators and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and test command procedures, telemetry pages, and related docs.
• Support mission preparation, rehearsals, execution, and post-launch tests.
• Lead cross-functional teams during real-time mission execution.
• Troubleshoot satellite, ground, and C2 software issues.
• Manage configuration of space vehicle hardware and software.
• Update procedures using lessons learned and automation.
• Present findings to customers in meetings and reviews.
• Utilize Agile tools (Jira, Confluence) for project tracking.
