Job summary

Spire is seeking a Systems Operations Engineer to ensure on-orbit mission operations meet SLAs and to serve as the technical link between development and operations. The role focuses on maintaining constellation performance and rapid resolution of deviations with engineering judgment.

The position emphasizes model-based engineering, validated asset profiles, and cross-functional coordination with Systems Engineering, Mission Design, and SRE to sustain reliable services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in system performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and anomaly resolution.
• Solid understanding of space system behaviour on orbit, including thermal dynamics, power management, RF communications, and tasking impacts.
• Familiarity with SLA-driven architectures, system observability, and mission assurance principles.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical quality of mission operations during the on-orbit service period, ensuring SLAs are defined, monitored, and maintained.
• Assess and design strategies to address underperformance, coordinating with Systems Engineering, Mission Design, and SRE.
• Define and manage asset profile structures and performance requirements with System Owners and SMEs for verification.
