Job summary

GDIT seeks qualified Systems Administrator I for the Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II program at Fort Bragg, NC. The role focuses on resilience of IT systems, security policy implementation, and support for large-scale training events within an LVC environment.

Minimum 5+ years of related experience and a Secret clearance to start. Education required is BA/BS in a related field, with IAT-II baseline certification.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training
• Minimum of 5+ years of related experience; Military and MTC experience preferred
• Technical expertise in systems and related technologies
• Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices
• Experienced in configuring and maintaining networking hardware/software systems to include routers, switches and firewalls
• Understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Superb communication skills; strong ability to advise and educate leadership through non-technical terms on systems
• Ability to document and report on technical issues and solutions
• Ability to resolve complex technical issues
• Certification: IAT-II baseline certification IAW former DoDD 8570.01-M: Security+ CE
• Security Clearance: Secret clearance required to start

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to individual training and large training events/exercises per the MTC training program
• Monitor and maintain the health and performance of systems
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues
• Deploy, configure and troubleshoot network devices for exercises and projects
• Configure and optimize systems to meet operational requirements
• Integrate components and systems in an LVC environment
• Collaborate to ensure system compatibility and interoperability
• Implement and manage security policies and configurations
• Maintain documentation for system configurations and changes
• Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress
• Serves as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met
• Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff
• Follows DoD directives and Army/NIST standards
• Participates in special projects as required
