Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Mission Engineering leader to guide a senior engineering team in Tucson. The role emphasizes technical rigor, collaboration across divisions, and delivering capabilities roadmaps for warfighter support. Onsite position requiring a DoD secret clearance and cross-site coordination.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets, and influence proposal outcomes while driving career growth and program success in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of senior engineers and staff members.
• Execute your own portfolio of project work for programs, captures and IRADs.
• Provide guidance, direction, mentoring and influencing skills along with fostering teamwork and growth for approximately 8–10 engineers.
• Participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development and appraisal for your team.
• Ensure each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and career advancement.
• Execute direct line management activities for the team, including performance development and appraisal, salary planning, career development, staffing allocation, and adherence to company policies.
