Job summary

Adaptic seeks a Systems Engineer to translate mission needs into practical technical solutions for DoD and IC programs. You'll connect big-picture goals with detailed engineering work across the lifecycle, collaborating with customers, developers, and project teams to ensure requirements are met.

You will help turn operational needs into concrete system requirements, define performance criteria, and support concept development, design, testing, and deployment across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Doctoral degree in Engineering with no experience required.
• For a relevant technical degree such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics: Bachelor's + 3 years of relevant experience, or Master's/Doctoral degree + 1 year of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience must involve engineering systems across their lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Define Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and system requirements.
• Translate mission needs into clear technical requirements.
• Support high-level system design and solution architecture.
• Define system performance and interface requirements.
• Develop installation, integration and test plans.
• Coordinate with customers and project teams to satisfy requirements.
• Evaluate engineering processes for improvements.
• Support systems through lifecycle from concept to sustainment.
• Communicate a shared technical and architectural vision across teams.
