Job summary

The Salvation Army thrift store in Ankeny, IA seeks a Store Manager to lead daily operations, supervise staff, manage donations, pricing, and presentation, and ensure customer satisfaction. This full-time role demands strong leadership, payroll oversight, and adherence to safety policies.

You will drive sales, maintain budgets, and coordinate reporting with Regional leadership, while fostering a mission-driven, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and supervise store staff.
• Manage scheduling and payroll processing.
• Implement company policies and practices in employee relations.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet production and sales goals.
• Oversee donation processes, pricing, and presentation.
• Manage store maintenance, safety, and appearance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army safety policies.
• Create an enjoyable shopping environment.
• Develop customer retention plans.
• Set an example for positive customer interactions.
• Oversee cash handling and daily deposits.
• Work within budget parameters.
• Manage inventory tracking for designated product lines.
• Maintain open communication with Regional Manager and Department Heads.
• Provide daily reports on store production and sales.
• Address customer complaints and provide education about the program.
• Recruit, interview and recommend for hire store staff.
