Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in Dubuque, IA seeks a Store Manager to lead one of our thrift stores. This full-time role offers $24.00 per hour and a 40-hour/week schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

You’ll supervise staff, drive sales, manage donations, ensure safety, and report to the Regional Manager. We value mission-driven leadership, customer service excellence, and hands-on coaching.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and supervise store staff
• Develop and implement strategies to meet production and sales goals
• Oversee donation processes, product sorting, pricing, and presentation
• Manage store maintenance, safety, and appearance
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army safety policies
• Create an enjoyable shopping environment
• Develop customer retention plans
• Set an example for positive customer interactions
• Oversee cash handling procedures and daily deposits
• Work within budget parameters
• Manage inventory tracking for designated product lines
• Maintain open communication with Regional Manager and Department Heads
• Provide daily reports on store production and sales
• Address customer complaints and provide education about the program
• Recruit, interview and recommend for hire Store staff
