Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and integrate platform infrastructure and client applications delivering live television and on-demand media to a global audience. You’ll work with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js, and AWS, using VS Code, Jira, and RESTful services.

A track record in project leadership and Agile development is highly valued. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience OR equivalent industry/school experience.
• Experience deploying software in a CI/CD model.
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and knowledge of Node.js and JSON.
• Experience with AWS, Git, VS Code, and development tools like Vue, Nuxt, Express, and RESTful web services.
• Experience with both relational (SQL) and non-relational databases.
• Strong understanding of programming methodologies, functional-programming, OO languages, EDA and SOA.
• Ability to write clean, secure, well-commented code and contribute to libraries.
• Familiarity with AI tech to assist in development tasks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Maintain code quality and participate in code reviews and testing.
• Lead and contribute to project management efforts to meet deadlines.
