Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Social Media Specialist to join the Broadcast team in Boone, NC. The role focuses on creating engaging, vertical-first content that communicates the ministry’s story and impact across social platforms.

You will lead video production from field shoots to studio setups, coordinating with leadership to ensure messaging aligns with organizational priorities. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio in short-form video, a film/video degree with 5+ years of experience,

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating short-form and vertical video content (e.g., Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).
• Bachelor's in film/video production with 5+ years of related experience or equivalent
• Experience creating social media content for organizations/ministries, with platform-aware storytelling.
• 12 credit hours of Biblical Studies; opportunity to meet this after hire if not completed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness.
• Create compelling, social-first content that tells Samaritan's Purse's ministry story across platforms.
• Produce video content including field and studio productions; coordinate logistics with Broadcast Department leadership.
• Develop accurate public messaging aligned with mission and priorities.
• Conduct interviews with ministry leaders and partners with sensitivity to those in pain or trauma.
• Adapt content for different platforms and formats, applying current trends and best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
