Job summary

Buffalo City Mission is seeking a Resident Assistant for our RCU in Buffalo, NY. The role is part-time with 1st and 3rd shift options and a 2nd shift available as full-time. The position supports men’s shelter operations, with a starting wage of $17.00 per hour plus shift differentials.

The job focuses on resident support, safety, and documentation, working under the RCU program to provide dignified care and ensure program participation and crisis de-escalation when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/HHA/PCA certification or active status preferred.
• Experience serving vulnerable populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident support including meals, hygiene supplies, and bedding.
• Coordinate care with residents' clinical teams for continuity of care.
• Assist with ADLs and encourage program participation.
• Monitor safety, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies.
