Job summary

The Salvation Army in Iowa City is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily operations, supervise staff, and oversee production, sales, and maintenance while delivering excellent customer service. This full-time role requires 2 years of retail experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

You’ll participate in budgeting, banking, and training with evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, plus benefits and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of retail experience preferred (thrift experience a plus).
• Strong English communication skills are essential.
• Basic computer proficiency including POS systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Support staff training and supervision.
• Ensure store safety, cleanliness and appearance, and adhere to OSHA policies.
• Help manage income and expenses within budgeted parameters.
