Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Fort Wayne, IN. The role assists the Store Manager with daily operations, staff supervision, production, sales, and store maintenance to ensure a safe and welcoming shopping environment.

Responsibilities include training, budgeting support, customer development, and ensuring compliance with safety policies. Hours include evenings and weekends; training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years retail experience (thrift experience a plus) preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency including POS systems.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Support staff training and supervision as assigned.
• Assist in meeting production and sales goals.
• Aid in store maintenance, safety, security, and cleanliness.
• Assist with banking and record-keeping procedures.
• Document information for personnel reviews and corrective actions.
• Communicate with Store Manager about all store operations.
