Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Store Sales Associate I for the Mission, KS thrift store. You will deliver friendly customer service, assist with donations and transactions, and help maintain an organized, mission-driven shop.

As part of a fast-paced retail team, you will operate the POS system, balance cash drawers, and support store productivity while working evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing
• Retail, customer service, or cashiering experience preferred
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a store environment

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and represent The Salvation Army's mission and values
• Greet donors and shoppers warmly and assist with transactions at the register
• Operate the POS system and handle all cash transactions accurately
• Open, close, and balance cash drawers per TSA cash handling policies
• Maintain a clean and organized store by restocking, straightening racks, and cleaning work areas
• Follow policies regarding the sale of donated goods and collaborate with team
