Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive medical care to inmates under medical leadership, in a correctional facility setting. The role includes evaluating acute and emergency complaints, collaborating with physicians and mental health professionals, and ensuring documentation aligns with protocols.

You will contribute to privacy, quality improvement, and cross-coverage for psychiatric stability, engaging in a challenging but meaningful environment dedicated to patient

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited education program for PAs.
• Minimum two years’ experience in correctional/detention facilities.
• Unrestricted license/registration in state of practice and DEA registration; BLS/PALS where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver acute and emergency medical care in accordance with protocols.
• Consult with physicians and manage patient transfers when clinically indicated.
• Document all findings using the S.O.A.P. method and EMR systems.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Provide cross-coverage and support psychiatric stability assessments.
