You will oversee core accounting functions, support leadership decisions, assist with audits and compliance, and implement best practices to improve financial transparency and efficiency. This position combines technical accounting with mission-driven work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years accounting experience; nonprofit/public accounting preferred.
• Experience with nonprofit organizations; churches preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple clients, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain accurate general ledgers and ensure GAAP/nonprofit compliance.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Assist churches and nonprofit leadership with budgeting and financial planning.
• Allocate payroll, shared expenses, and overhead costs across programs, ministries, and grants.
• Monitor cash flow, reserves, and investment activity.
• Support audits, reviews, and nonprofit tax filings.
• Ensure timely processing of payroll, accounts payable, and related activities.
• Improve internal accounting controls and procedures.
