Job summary

Catholic Charities Worcester County is seeking a full-time Kitchen Manager / Cook to join Crozier House in Worcester, MA. The role focuses on preparing evening meals on weekdays and providing meals for breakfast and lunch for residents.

Responsibilities include ordering and preparing food, supervising residents in the kitchen, maintaining cleanliness, planning weekly menus, keeping records of purchases, and ensuring equipment is functional.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in food preparation and service.
• Knowledge of substance abuse and the role of a residential halfway house.
• Understand the confidential nature of the relationship with residents.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation of evening meals on weekdays and meals for breakfast and lunch.
• Order and prepare food; may pick up supplies as needed.
• Manage the kitchen and residents working in the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
• Plan weekly meals after consultation with the Administrator.
• Order sufficient quantities of perishables and supplies for at least a week.
• Prepare and cook all food served on weekdays; supervise dining room setup.
• Notify Administrator of equipment repairs/replacements; keep purchase records.
• Check deliveries against invoices and keep accurate records.
