Job summary

Austin Housing Authority (AHA) seeks a Housing Quality Standards Inspector to perform inspections for HUD HQS compliance, schedule inspections, and use Elite systems. You will conduct annual recertifications, advise property owners on deficiencies, and monitor repair deadlines to ensure timely completion.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, accurate data entry, and collaboration with Housing Choice Voucher programs and other rental assistance initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Two years related experience or training
• Strong computer skills (Google Suite, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat)
• Working knowledge of building maintenance and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections to ensure HQS compliance for HCV and other programs.
• Schedule HQS inspections using Elite Inspection Module.
• Complete inspections with Elite HQS Mobile App.
• Conduct annual recertification, initial, and complaint inspections; report findings.
