Job summary

Boys and Girls Country of Houston is seeking a Food Services Coordinator to manage the Distribution Center operations, care for the Community Life Building and Production Kitchen, and support banquet functions. The role requires strong organization, the ability to lift 40–50 pounds, and a Serve Safe-style food safety certification.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be willing to acquire a food safety certificate (e.g., Serve Safe).
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 40 to 50 pounds.
• Team oriented and reliable with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality food service for staff and residents.
• Oversee Distribution Center operations with adaptable shopping hours and cost-conscious menu items.
• Requisition food supplies and other merchandise to meet program needs.
• Train and guide participants in the Summer Apprentice Program.
• Maintain inventory and records for distribution and cleaning supplies.
• Coordinate food donation pickups and document donations within 24–48 hours.
• Manage event setup, kitchen cleanliness, and preparation for special events and programs.
