Job summary

Cabrini Green Legal Aid (CGLA) seeks a mission-driven Executive Director to guide strategy, fundraising, and operations from Chicago. This leader will strengthen financial foundations, engage diverse partners, and serve as the public face of fundraising to secure long-term stability.

The ideal candidate has nonprofit leadership experience, strong budgeting and planning skills, and a deep commitment to criminal justice reform.

Qualifications

• Established people management experience; prior Executive Director or equivalent role preferred.
• Experience managing nonprofit budgets, cash flow, and financial oversight.
• Experience partnering with a volunteer board and/or committees.
• Strong commitment to criminal justice reform and equity.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, fundraising, and operations to advance CGLA’s mission.
• Serve as public face of fundraising and external relations.
• Mentor staff and align programs with board priorities.
• Ensure financial sustainability and donor diversification.
