Job summary

Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund (DMSF) seeks a strategic COO to lead day-to-day operations, donor engagement, and growth initiatives in a fast-paced nonprofit. You will partner with the CEO on planning, budgeting, and organizational development while guiding cross-functional teams to advance the mission.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong relationship building, and experience managing a ~$6M+ budget in a hybrid Chicago office environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years nonprofit leadership in operations or development.
• Experience leading multiple operations functions and managing a team.
• Proven ability to support executive leadership and high-level communications.
• Experience in fundraising operations, donor engagement, and events.

Responsibilities

• Lead organizational operations, systems, and internal processes.
• Drive fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and revenue growth.
• Prepare materials for board meetings and donor meetings.
• Oversee budgeting, financial controls, and monthly reviews.
• Manage data systems and compliance programs.
• Supervise Development team (2-3 reports).
