Job summary

High Country Search Group in Greenwood Village, CO (Denver Tech Center) is seeking a seasoned DevOps/Platform Engineering leader to guide platform strategy, CI/CD standards, and incident readiness while empowering engineers through self-service tools and golden paths. Hybrid work model with 4 days in office.

You will own Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, Docker deployments, and IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu, plus GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize, while shaping observability with Grafana, Tempo,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering supporting production systems.
• 3+ years of experience managing technical teams (hiring, performance management, coaching, and team building).
• Hands-on technical background in Microsoft Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployments.
• Strong experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu) and CI/CD/GitOps tooling (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm, Kustomize).
• Proven track record leading observability strategy (Grafana, Tempo, Loki, Datadog) and incident response/on-call practices.
• Experience supporting C#/.NET applications in Azure and collaborating with developers on application operability.
• Demonstrated focus on building self-service developer platforms and guiding AI-assisted tool adoption (GitHub Copilot, LLMs).
• Scripting and automation proficiency in Bash or Python.

Our client is a mission-driven company offering a white-glove service to students in need, more specifically to 3 core student markets: those experiencing homelessness or lack of a permanent home (including those in the foster system), students in rural communities, and students with special needs.

You are a "player's coach" who combines deep technical judgment with a passion for growing high-performing engineering teams. You lead through context and trust, establishing platform strategy, CI/CD standards, and operational excellence while remaining technically engaged in architecture reviews, design, and complex troubleshooting. You take pride in empowering developers through self-service platforms and golden paths.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering supporting production systems
• 3+ years of experience managing technical teams (hiring, performance management, coaching, and team building)

LOCATION

Greenwood Village, CO (Denver Tech Center). Hybrid work model requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.

SALARY / BENEFITS

Our client is looking to pay in the 175K - 195K base range, plus competitive bonus and comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, company-paid Life/Disability insurance, 401(k) with employer match, Flexible Time Off (FTO), paid holidays, FSA, and Employee Assistance Programs.
