Job summary

St. Joseph High School in Victoria, Texas seeks a mission‑driven Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy, ensure stability, and align resources with Catholic education. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in finance, 3+ in leadership, and a CPA/CMA/CFA or MBA is preferred.

The CFO will oversee budgeting, reporting, cash flow, risk, HR, and systems, partnering with the President and Board to advance strategic goals while maintaining Catholic values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA, CMA, CFA or MBA preferred.
• 5–8 years in financial management with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Experience in private schools or Catholic institutions preferred.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with standards (TCCB-ED).

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budget development and long-range forecasts.
• Ensure GAAP and TCCB-ED compliance and financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships.
• Oversee risk management, internal controls, and audits.
• Oversee daily accounting with business office staff.
• Support fundraising, grants, donor stewardship, and endowment management.
• Oversee HR, payroll, benefits, and external providers.
• Oversee tech and systems for reporting and decision-making.
• Collaborate with President, Principal, and Board on strategic planning.
• Provide clear financial updates to stakeholders.
• Represent school in financial matters with banks and diocesan offices.
