Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree is a plus
  • IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GSEC)
  • Familiarity with ISD/ADDIE methodology or DoD instructor programs
  • Ability to teach in a classroom and convey complex concepts effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with network defense technologies and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Kibana)
  • Familiarity with DoD cyber security frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-53) and defense-in-depth architectures
  • Preferred: CISSP, OSCP, CEH, GIAC certifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead course development, updates, and primary instruction for the 69 Cyberspace Squadron (CYS) training
  • Transform existing mission system documentation into formal courses that are ISD compliant
  • Develop, review, and maintain Programs of Instruction (POI), lesson plans, practical exercises, assessments, student materials, and courseware
  • Serve as the Cyber subject matter expert, ensuring curriculum accuracy and alignment with MD 9 Cyber requirements
  • Instruct guardians to analyze network behavior, investigate anomalies, and identify vulnerabilities for corrective actions
  • Maintain coordination with mission partners to reflect current operational needs
  • Assist with policy development and additional tasks as needed

Mission Delta 9 Cyberspace Operations Instructor

Sigmatech is seeking experienced Cyberspace instructors / SME to support the Mission Delta 9 training team located at Schriever SFB, CO. The instructors will be instrumental in training guardians to be able to detect anomalies, analyze complex systems, and reinforce network security to safeguard high-value missions. This role is perfect for professionals passionate about building guardians able to solve challenging problems and contribute to national security within a collaborative, mission-driven team.

Ideal Candidates May Have Experience In:

  • Formal military instructor programs, Cyber Protection, SOC, CSIRT, Incident Response, Vulnerability Assessment, or Blue/Red team roles.
Responsibilities
  • Lead course development, updates, and primary instruction for the 69 Cyberspace Squadron (CYS) training.
  • Transform existing mission system documentation into formal courses that are ISD compliant.

Experience and Skills
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility at time of application
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GSEC).
  • Familiarity with DAFH 36-2675, instructional systems design (ISD), ADDIE methodology, or formal military instructor certification programs
  • Ability to teach in a classroom setting, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to convey complex concepts effectively to facilitate an interactive learning experience.
  • Proficiency in creating training materials using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with network defense technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection).
  • Proficient in network protocol analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump) and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Kibana).
  • Experience in vulnerability scanning, incident response, and threat hunting.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based server and user environments, including troubleshooting and security configurations.
  • Familiarity with DoD cyber security frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST 800-53) and system defense-in-depth architectures.
  • Preferred: Advanced certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, CEH, other GIAC certifications.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $125,000 to $140,000; however, Sigmatech considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, experience, education/training, key skills, location and often contractual requirements.
