Job summary

MITRE is seeking a UX/UI Engineer to design and develop user-centered software solutions supporting national missions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate user needs into intuitive, scalable interfaces across web applications.

You will apply UX, UI, front-end engineering, and human-machine collaboration while contributing to high-impact projects. On-site four days a week with a strong emphasis on accessibility and usability testing.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related UX/UI engineering experience.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience building accessible web apps (WCAG/508).
• Portfolio demonstrating UX design and prototyping work.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop user-centered software interfaces.
• Lead front-end development efforts and ensure accessibility.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and sponsors.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for reviews.
• Maintain design systems and reusable components.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve UX and mission outcomes.
• Present design recommendations to teams and leadership.
