Job summary

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) seeks a Systems Test Engineer to plan, execute, and validate the performance, reliability, and security of mission-critical systems supporting national security operations.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hands‑on experience developing and executing comprehensive test strategies across complex environments to ensure systems meet accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI with CI Poly required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Professional certifications such as ISTQB, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps, or Developer).
• 7+ years of systems testing/verification experience in enterprise or mission environments.
• Experience supporting system accreditation, validation, or certification efforts.
• Experience consolidating and managing test results in ITSM/test management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and cases for system validation and verification.
• Evaluate system performance, functionality, and interoperability across hardware, software, and network components.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, and security teams to define test objectives and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct integration, regression, and performance testing to identify and resolve defects.
• Support test environment setup, configuration, and data preparation.
• Document test results, anomalies, and recommendations to support accreditation processes.
• Participate in technical reviews, readiness assessments, and system acceptance testing.
• Provide feedback to engineering on design improvements and risks.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results.
