Job summary

TECHEAD is seeking a Database Administrator (Intermediate) in Suffolk, VA to support DoD information systems. You will manage, secure, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases across multiple environments.

Responsibilities include backup and recovery, performance tuning, high availability, RMF and STIG compliance, and collaboration with system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, developers, and stakeholders to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

Active Secret clearance required.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years DBA experience.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL in production.
Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, and cybersecurity controls.
Experience with backup/recovery and performance tuning.
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
Ensure availability, integrity, confidentiality, and performance.
Perform installations, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
Design and maintain backup, recovery, replication, and DR solutions.
Monitor performance and optimize queries and indexes.
Support high-availability, clustering, failover, and replication.
Implement and maintain database security controls and access management.
Support RMF, STIG compliance and vulnerability remediation.
Develop maintenance plans and technical documentation.
Collaborate with system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, developers, and stakeholders.
Troubleshoot incidents and support change/configuration management.
