Job summary
TECHEAD seeks a seasoned Database Administrator to support DoD information systems in Suffolk, VA. You will administer and secure enterprise SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and availability.
Responsibilities include backups, DR, patching, and high-availability configurations, with RMF and DISA STIG compliance. The role requires Secret clearance, production-experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, and a strong security posture to protect
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT or related field.
- Five+ years of enterprise database administration experience.
- Experience with SQL Server production environments.
- Experience with PostgreSQL production environments.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and security administration.
- Experience with performance monitoring and tuning.
- Experience with high-availability configurations and RMF/DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
- Ensure availability, security, integrity and performance of databases.
- Perform installation, patching, upgrades, migrations.
- Design and maintain backup, recovery, replication, DR solutions.
- Monitor performance and implement tuning strategies.
- Configure high-availability including clustering and failover.
- Implement database security controls, auditing, and access management.
- Support RMF compliance and cybersecurity initiatives.
