Leidos is hiring a SQL Engineer to support a high-visibility, data-driven application powering analytics and reporting across the organization. You will write complex queries, shape data for dashboards, ensure data accuracy, and deliver reliable datasets that stakeholders depend on daily.

The role collaborates with dashboard developers and application teams; the primary development hub is Gaithersburg, MD, with onsite options in Alexandria, VA; Aurora, CO; St. Louis, MO; and Tucson, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering with 4-8 years of experience, or Master’s with 2-6 years.
• U.S. Citizenship and Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Strong SQL skills including joins, aggregations, subqueries, window functions.
• Experience with enterprise relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
• Experience supporting analytics, dashboards, or reporting pipelines.
• Comfortable working in Linux-based environments.
• Proven ability to work independently on data-centric tasks and ensure data quality.

Responsibilities

• SQL Development: write complex queries with joins, aggregations, filtering, subqueries, and window functions for dashboards.
• Data shaping for visualization: format outputs for dashboards (clear naming, grouping, formatting).
• Dashboard support: collaborate with dashboard developers to provide data for visuals and reporting.
• Data validation: ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of datasets.
• Query performance: identify inefficient queries and improve performance for responsive dashboards.
• Requirements translation: convert dashboard and reporting needs into effective SQL queries.
