Job summary

The Quality Manager role at Suffolk in Cedar Rapids, IA oversees project-level quality planning, verification, and reporting for the Mission Critical program. You will develop the Quality Plan, ensure conformance of materials, installations, testing, and documentation before work proceeds, and coordinate with trade partners and testing agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or related field; equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of construction quality, inspection, testing, or MEP experience with leadership.
• Strong technical competence across construction disciplines; familiarity with codes (IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE).
• Experience reviewing drawings, submittals, and test plans; OSHA 30 or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Proven ability to manage inspections, nonconformances, corrective actions, and project closeout.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project Quality Plan, inspection/testing controls, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and acceptance with internal teams and third-party testers.
• Manage nonconformances, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and closure.
• Prepare and turnover quality documentation and audit-ready records.
• Lead quality coordination meetings and mentor project staff in quality processes.
