Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a motivated Design/Build Manager in Atlanta to oversee project performance from day one, balancing estimates, scheduling, quality, and cost control. You will collaborate with owners and design teams to develop concepts, review scope, and implement value engineering while guiding subcontractors and maintaining schedule discipline.

The role emphasizes integrity, teamwork, and delivering exceptional client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Electrical and Mechanical Engineering degrees valued.
  • 3–10 years of construction management experience on ground-up, commercial projects.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines and manage multiple activities.
  • Commitment to quality and meeting/exceeding client expectations.
  • Integrity and alignment with company values and safety.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee managerial and administrative aspects: estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, and cost reporting.
  • Develop preliminary concept drawings with owners and design team.
  • Participate in proposal meetings to define scope and value engineering ideas.
  • Manage buyout process and subcontractor selection.
  • Lead bi-weekly on-site meetings and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Make timely decisions under tight deadlines while coordinating multiple activities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and project processes for quality.
  • Adapt to feedback to meet/exceed client expectations and company values.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project. Including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
  • Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
  • Work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
  • Oversee the buyout process and the selection of subcontractors
  • Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings on site
  • Make sound decisions under tight deadlines
  • Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
  • Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes
  • Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectations
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and other associates, while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Electrical and Mechanical Engineering degrees highly valued.
  • 3-10 years of construction management experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager (or related role) on ground-up, commercial projects.
  • Ability to effectively make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes. Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external customer expectations.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
