Job summary

Carrier, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, is hiring for a PLC Associate Field Engineer in Sullivan, Indiana. You will install, startup, commission, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based control systems tailored for each customer, working closely with teams to ensure reliable system performance.

You will grow your knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, support mission-critical projects, and travel up to 50% as required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
2+ years of professional experience in Controls, HVAC, Electrical, Information Technology, Industrial Networking or PLC systems.
1+ years of experience of PLC-based control systems.
Valid and current Driver’s License and ability to be insured by the company's insurance carrier.
Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and using lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade.
Ability to be on site daily and travel up to 50% based on project requirements.

Responsibilities

Allen-Bradley PLC Technical Execution: Assist with ControlLogix and CompactLogix panel checkout, wiring verification, I/O point-to-point testing, device terminations, sensor and actuator troubleshooting, EtherNet/IP communication checks, and controls commissioning to help ensure systems operate as designed.
Project Documentation: Maintain accurate Allen-Bradley PLC checkout sheets, I/O test records, redlines, deficiency logs, network notes, and daily updates while communicating controls status clearly to the team and customers.
Travel & On-Site Presence: Ability to travel up to 50% as project needs require and be on site daily as required to support field execution, commissioning activities, customer coordination, and project schedules.
