Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ControlLogix and CompactLogix panel checkout, wiring verification, I/O testing, device terminations, and controls commissioning.
  • Maintain accurate PLC checkout sheets, I/O test records, redlines, deficiency logs, and network notes.
  • Travel up to 50% as needed and be on site daily to support field execution and commissioning activities.
  • Expand Allen-Bradley PLC knowledge through hands-on field exposure and mentorship.

As an Associate Field Engineer focused on Allen-Bradley PLC work, you are entering the industry on the ground floor with a clear path to becoming a hands-on controls specialist. We are looking for self-directed learners eager to build skill in ControlLogix and CompactLogix checkout, Studio 5000 exposure, I/O verification, control panel troubleshooting, EtherNet/IP networked controls, and commissioning support. If you are willing to travel and enjoy solving fresh technical challenges in mission-critical field environments, you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with ControlLogix and CompactLogix panel checkout, wiring verification, I/O point-to-point testing, device terminations, sensor and actuator troubleshooting, EtherNet/IP communication checks, and controls commissioning to help ensure systems operate as designed.
  • Maintain accurate Allen-Bradley PLC checkout sheets, I/O test records, redlines, deficiency logs, network notes, and daily updates while communicating controls status clearly to the team and customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as project needs require and be on site daily as required to support field execution, commissioning activities, customer coordination, and project schedules.
  • Build Allen-Bradley PLC knowledge through hands-on field exposure, self-directed learning, and mentorship. We expect you to seek out system complexity, ask good troubleshooting questions, and take on more commissioning responsibility as you advance.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid, current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods.
  • Capable of working over 8 feet above grade and proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background: Degree, technical certificate, military training, or hands-on experience in HVAC controls, DDC systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, Allen-Bradley PLCs, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, Studio 5000, RSLinx or FactoryTalk Linx, DDC controls, control panels, electrical schematics, low-voltage wiring, BAS integration, EtherNet/IP, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Ability to explain technical info to non-technical people and work well within a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $35,500.00 - $71,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
