Job summary

SpaceX in Starbase, TX, is seeking a CRITICAL LIFT & TRANSPORT ENGINEER to join the launch site engineering team. You will develop lift plans, rigging designs, and transport configurations for Starship hardware, coordinating with engineering and operations to ensure safety and reliability.

Required are a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience with mechanical/ structural hardware; preferred are CAD/FEA skills and crane/rigging background. Some travel and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 2+ years of hands-on mechanical/structural hardware experience.
• Experience with crane lifting, rigging, or transport operations preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA/ASME B30 standards.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze, and execute critical lifts and heavy-haul transports.
• Develop lift plans, rigging designs, and transport configurations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to assess mass properties and load paths.
• Interface with external vendors for specialized equipment rentals and oversee operations.
• Maintain documentation for regulatory audits and lessons learned.
