SpaceX in Cape Canaveral, FL seeks a Critical Lift & Transport Engineer for Starship to design, review, and execute lifts and transports of large hardware, with an emphasis on safety and reliability. The role requires a solid engineering background, 2+ years hands-on experience, and familiarity with crane, rigging, and transport operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with mechanical and structural hardware.
• Master’s degree in engineering or related advanced training preferred.
• Professional certifications such as NCCCO/NCCER or PE license are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Plan, analyze, and execute critical lifts and heavy-haul transports for large-scale hardware.
• Develop lift plans, rigging designs, and transport configurations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to assess mass properties, rigging locations, and load paths.
• Select and specify equipment (cranes, SPMTs, trailers) and perform inspections/capacity verifications.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and fatigue/stress analyses for lifts.
• Oversee on-site operations, pre-lift dry runs, monitoring, and debriefs.
• Interface with external vendors for equipment rentals and contracted operations.
• Maintain engineering calculations, drawings, and reports for audits and lessons learned.
• Support off-hour operations and real-time troubleshooting during high-stakes lifts.
• Drive continuous improvement in lift/transport processes and adopt new technologies.
