Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Information and Communications Technology Designer to perform basic technical duties under supervision. You will understand project requirements, execute independent tasks, coordinate production with the team, and provide guidance to project managers as needed to keep scope on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities include site surveys, creating design deliverables, and ensuring QA/QC.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years related industry experience preferred.
• Experience with ICT design principles for backbone and horizontal cabling.
• Knowledge of TIA standards and BICSI best practices.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and regulations.
• Proficient in CAD, Bluebeam and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision.
• Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and final punch lists as required by project timelines.
• Prepares project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work in Stantec's proposal.
• Follows Stantec’s quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting to QA/QC reviewer.
• Actively participates in the engineering/professional community to build knowledge and growth.
• Meets utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
• Performs duties to assist or act as the project manager as follows: creates plans to complete tasks within the project timeline and budget.
• Creates detailed instructions, delegates tasks, and reviews returned work.
• Identifies and reports potential roadblocks and competing priorities that may threaten scope/schedule/budget.
• Develops understanding of Stantec’s accounting and project management systems.
