Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Chicago is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer. The successful candidate will assist in the development of design drawings and specifications for HVAC control systems, coordinate with design teams, and evaluate vendor bids. A Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least three years of experience is required. The position offers a salary range of $120,000 to $170,000, along with a robust benefits package, including an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

Qualifications

• 3 years of applicable engineering experience required (consulting preferred).
• Strong computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of design drawings for HVAC control systems.
• Coordinate with teams to develop Sequences of Operations for systems.
• Create engineering drawings for control panel designs.
• Manage quality reviews of project submittals.
• Evaluate technical bids and manage vendor contracts.

Skills

Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI)

Strong attention to detail

Computing skills (Microsoft Office)

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Master’s Degree in the above engineering programs

Engineers in Training (EIT) certification preferred
