Job summary

KBR in Japan seeks an experienced SCS Maintenance/HVAC Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform emergency/preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, and related facilities at Kyogamisaki and Shariki sites. The role focuses on keeping mission-critical infrastructure and base services running smoothly with strict safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment, kitchen and facility systems, and site access

Qualifications

• US Citizen with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess passport book with at least 13 months of validity and 6 blank visa pages
• At least 5 years of experience
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
• EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, and components
• Proficient in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment
• Ability to interpret drawings and schematics

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, repair HVAC/R systems
• Apply fundamentals of HVAC/R equipment and regulations for fuels, refrigerants, and hazardous materials
• Explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities
• Complete and review records and maintain tools/equipment
• Job may require moderate to heavy lifting
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE
• Operate site vehicles for mail runs and off-site activities
• Perform general preventative maintenance on HVAC units and related equipment
