Job summary

LMI, headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, seeks a Software Engineer with strong React, Spring, and PostgreSQL skills to join our government-focused logistics app team. You will collaborate with product owners, designers, and other engineers to rapidly iterate, improve performance, and build a secure, scalable platform for federal users.

You’ll contribute to REST APIs, cloud and container deployments, and work in an environment that values speed, security, and rigorous quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in React, including component design, hooks, and modern front-end patterns.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs using Java Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, migrations, performance tuning).
• Familiarity with secure software development practices and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc).
• Comfortable working in Agile or Lean environments, with rapid delivery cycles and direct user feedback loops.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Active Secret or TS clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build intuitive front-end experiences using React and modern component libraries.
• Write clean and secure back-end services using Java + Spring Boot, with a focus on REST APIs and modular design.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries for fast, reliable performance.
• Collaborate across design, product, DevSecOps, and field teams to launch features quickly and securely.
• Participate in rapid prototyping cycles while maintaining production-grade coding standards.
• Write unit and integration tests to support a test-driven development (TDD) mindset.
• Troubleshoot bugs, squash performance bottlenecks, and help build towards FedRAMP and IL5 deployment requirements.
