Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Full Stack Developer to design, build, and modernize mission‑critical software for UAV and USV platforms. You will work across embedded components, backend services, and modern web front ends to deliver secure, scalable, production‑ready solutions.

Responsibilities include containerizing legacy applications, building APIs and UIs, and ensuring secure deployments within Agile environments. The role requires DoD eligibility and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 3–12 years of professional experience developing distributed, embedded, or mission‑critical software systems.
• Hands‑on full stack development experience across front‑ and back‑end.
• Experience modernizing legacy software or migrating to containerized/server‑based environments.
• Experience in Linux‑based environments and secure deployments.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and approaches.
• Proficiency in Java or similar backend technologies.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and modern front‑end frameworks (React/Angular/Vue).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mission software and distributed systems for UAV/USV platforms.
• Develop embedded software components and integrate with higher‑level services.
• Build back‑end services, APIs, and UIs for control and data visualization.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering to trace architectures to customer requirements.
• Create responsive web interfaces using modern JS frameworks.
• Containerize legacy apps for scalable, server‑based deployments.
• Port legacy hardware‑bound apps to modular containerized architectures.
• Support modernization and secure containerized environments.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases.
• Assist in secure Linux deployments and STIG compliance.
• Automate build, deployment, and monitoring pipelines.
