Job summary

The Building People is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to support a secure federal O&M program in Northern Virginia. You will handle doors, locks, lighting, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general systems maintenance, responding to service calls and performing preventive maintenance.

Work with site leadership, subcontractors, and government representatives to keep facilities operational in a TS/SCI environment. A valid driver's license and EPA Type I-III certification are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance and repair in federal or critical environments.
• Maintenance and repair of doors, locks, lighting, plumbing, carpentry, and related systems.
• Responding to service calls and performing preventive maintenance.
• Ability to document maintenance and service activities.
• Ability to operate safely with hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in a secure TS/SCI environment and support emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks across building systems.
• Respond to service calls and complete preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain maintenance records and service call documentation.
• Coordinate with leadership, subcontractors, and government representatives.
• Support emergency response operations as required.
