Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking a building energy/modeling professional to perform whole-building energy simulations, evaluate design options and drive sustainable, high-performance outcomes across diverse projects.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers, deliver calibrated energy analyses, and contribute to ESG commitments. The role emphasizes early-stage modeling, life cycle costs, daylighting and advanced climate-based simulations, with opportunities to influence design decisions and project

Qualifications

Accredited degree in Architecture, Engineering, Sustainable Design or related field.
Typically 3+ years of experience in energy modeling or sustainability.
Professional credentials (BEMP/BESA) or equivalent preferred.
Familiarity with multiple energy-modelling tools listed above.

Responsibilities

Prepare whole-building dynamic thermal and energy simulations for various building types.
Conduct detailed engineering analyses to minimize energy use and emissions.
Perform comfort studies, life cycle costs and daylight simulations to inform decisions.
Support enterprise design-green initiatives and integrate performance modeling across projects.
Predict energy use and savings, and verify with calibration procedures.
Create technical reports and present findings to architects and operators.
Travel may be required.
