Job summary

HKS, Inc. in Dallas seeks a senior energy modeling and building performance leader to guide whole-building simulations for diverse projects. You will mentor staff, advance ESG goals, and coordinate energy analysis with architects, engineers and operators throughout the project lifecycle.

You will influence design decisions by predicting performance, validating models, and driving sustainable strategies across enterprise design programs.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture, Engineering, Sustainable Design or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Professional engineering licensure preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in design and energy modeling.
• Modeling credentials (BEMP/BESA) or equivalent preferred.
• Familiarity with Rhino, Grasshopper, Radiance, DIVA, REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketchup, IES VE, Sefaira, Insight360, Energy Plus, EnergyPro.

Responsibilities

• Oversees whole-building energy modeling and related services for a variety of project types.
• Develops energy modeling proposals aligned to business constraints and opportunities.
• Leads detailed engineering analyses to minimize energy use and emissions.
• Manages comfort studies, life cycle cost analyses, daylight and solar shading assessments.
• Supports DesignGreen and Enterprise leadership to integrate design performance across projects.
• Predicts energy use and savings using validated simulation methods and post-occupancy checks.
• Leads research activities on energy, environmental and sustainability topics.
• Contributes to publications and innovation efforts to improve energy efficiency.
