Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Data Centers in Austin, TX. The role focuses on planning and executing construction programs per Suffolk procedures, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence on complex data center projects.

Responsibilities include documenting project information, validating layouts, managing quality and safety programs, and coordinating with teams, clients, and subcontractors to maintain progress and compliance throughout the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 2+ years of experience in mission critical/data center construction.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Demonstrates time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Shows a strong sense of urgency and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute project documents to the team, including plans, specs, RFIs, bulletins, and field reports.
• Manage layout and verify field dimensions for accuracy.
• Verify subcontractor layouts against established line and grade.
• Administer the Quality Management Program and track deficiencies to resolution.
• Monitor on-site progress to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Document daily construction activity with reports, photos, and sketches.
• Create and distribute daily and weekly work plans, schedules, and logistics.
• Attend meetings with customers and clients to provide progress updates.
• Compile permits, testing, and inspections for project completion.
• Assist in overseeing Suffolk Safety Program and pre-construction planning.
• Supervise and mentor Field Engineers daily.
• Communicate safety expectations clearly to project teams.
