Job summary

Bitwise is seeking a general-purpose software engineer embedded in operations to own the full product lifecycle of mission-critical tools. You will design, prototype, develop, deploy, and maintain software, working closely with analysts and operators to define requirements and deliver practical solutions that meet mission needs.

You will augment tools, document requirements, and build end-to-end toolsets within mission constraints, while providing technical consulting across products.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience with a B.S. in a technical discipline, OR 10 years of experience without a degree, OR 4 years of experience with an M.S. in a technical discipline
• Strong proficiency in C/C++/Python with explicit experience in network programming
• Proven ability to support fielded software systems
• Familiarity with Git and Subversion
• Experience with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira, Bamboo)
• Strong ability to coordinate and communicate with users of differing technical knowledge—operators, analysts, and other developers—to deliver finished products
• Active TS//SCI clearance with polygraph (required)
• Experience developing CNO-specific software in Linux, Windows, or embedded environments
• Vulnerability research and exploit development experience
• Malware reverse engineering experience
• Solid understanding of cryptography
• Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
• Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations

Responsibilities

• Own the full product lifecycle of mission-critical tools from design to deployment
• Augment existing tools, document requirements, and build prototypes to demonstrate mission needs
• Provide technical consulting across software products and technologies
• Coordinate across teams to integrate products into the toolkit
• Lead development for longer cycles with feature-rich capabilities
• Participate in peer code reviews and communicate with users of varying technical backgrounds
