Job summary

Thomas & Hutton seeks a Civil Engineering professional to deliver site development drawings for mission critical and data center projects across the Southeast. You will design water, sewer, and utility infrastructure, develop design calculations, and prepare permitting documents while leveraging AutoCAD Civil 3D for surface and utility layouts.

The role requires an EIT or PE path, 3+ years in land development with Civil 3D, and strong communication to engage with clients and cross-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months (PE path preferred).
• 3+ years of experience designing land development projects using Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.
• Experience with surface modeling and underground utility design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site development construction drawings for mission critical and data center projects.
• Design water, sewer, storm drainage, and complex underground utility infrastructure systems.
• Develop engineering design considerations and supporting calculations for site development projects.
• Prepare reports, specifications, permit applications, and supporting documentation.
• Model and design infrastructure using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surface creation and utility layouts.
• Analyze site data, existing conditions, and entitlements to support client site selection efforts.
• Participate in client meetings and multidisciplinary coordination, providing technical input and guidance.
• Review work prepared by other team members for quality and consistency.
• Manage tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals in a fast-paced project environment.
