Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Civil Engineer Designer to support mission critical and data center infrastructure in the Southeast. You will develop site drawings, design water/sewer systems, and model infrastructure using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.

Collaborate with engineers, leadership, and clients in a fast-paced setting while contributing to high-impact projects. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, EIT (or PE path), and 3+ years of Civil 3D experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months (PE path preferred).
• 3+ years of experience designing land development projects using Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.
• Experience with surface modeling and underground utility design preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage with clients.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize workflow.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site development construction drawings for mission critical and data center projects.
• Design water, sewer, storm drainage, and underground utility infrastructure.
• Develop design considerations and calculations for site development.
• Prepare reports, specifications, permits, and supporting documentation.
• Model and design infrastructure using AutoCAD Civil 3D with surface creation and utility layouts.
• Analyze site data and existing conditions to support site selection.
• Participate in client meetings and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Review work for quality and consistency.
• Manage tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals in a fast-paced environment.
