Job summary

NTI in Rockville, MD is seeking a Mission Critical Low Voltage Trainer to develop and deliver classroom, hands-on lab, and field training for data center and mission critical project teams. You will convert project requirements and installation procedures into practical training across structured cabling, fiber optics, copper cabling, and related systems.

The role includes creating lesson plans, demonstrations, and assessments, coordinating with QA/QC and safety teams, and ensuring training

Qualifications

• Hands-on low voltage installation experience suitable for teaching structured cabling and related systems.
• Experience training, mentoring, or leading installation personnel through demonstrations and hands-on practice.
• Working knowledge of fiber and copper cabling, pathways, racks, labeling, testing, and bonding/grounding.
• Ability to read drawings/specifications and translate requirements into practical lessons.
• Prepare organized lessons, deliver demonstrations, and assess knowledge using established criteria.
• Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook for course development and record keeping.
• Strong communication, patience, and classroom management with ability to adapt to experience levels.
• Commitment to safety, quality documentation, and teaching only within demonstrated qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom, lab, and field training for mission critical low voltage installation teams.
• Teach structured cabling practices including fiber and copper installation, testing, labeling, and documentation.
• Demonstrate installation practices for racks, pathways, and bonding/grounding.
• Develop and update course outlines, lesson plans, and instructor guides.
• Align training with project specs, drawings, and manufacturer instructions.
• Assess learner knowledge against criteria and provide extra practice when needed.
• Prepare training spaces, tools, and equipment; maintain safe lab conditions.
• Coordinate with field leadership and departments to identify training needs.
